Alun started his martial art journey at 12 years old, he
came to Wing Chun aged 38 training under the Leung Ting and Keith Kernspecht
lineage. Alun gained his Black belt equivalent by his 40th Birthday training
8 times a week in Tonbridge in Kent before moving to the Midlands. After 11 years he has now attained 3rd level technician Grade/Black belt and has helped form the WCCW organisation. Alun
has started clubs in Northampton, Leicester before settling in Leamington Spa
and running the Coventry club for 6 years.
Alun has practised a hard style of Karate (5 years), Judo (3
years), Ninjitsu (5 years), Brazilian Jujitsu (2 years) and Escrima. He began
his journey after being blown away watching Bruce Lee. He has enjoyed many
journeys abroad for martial arts with senior instructors including Germany,
Scotland and Ireland. His next journeys are Hong Kong and New York.
Alun works as a technical project manager and is a qualified
business coach. Using these skills he is helping move the collegiate for
instructors to become more engaging with the students, creating packs for all
grades and learning plans.
He has run fun sessions, clubs and self-defence sessions in
Secondary and primary schools to classes of 15 and up to 200. Alun is working
on a book and a set of seminars to improve communication of techniques more
effectively in all martial arts. He really enjoys running large and small
session seminars particularly when they held in realistic environments.
